Newman Stewart were approached by Motherwell Bridge when they had a requirement to fulfil 3 assignments simultaneously, two senior Project Managers and an Engineering leader. They had been searching for some time and had struggled to identify candidates of the appropriate calibre.
The client was managing a considerable international project in Africa and was looking for an individual with considerable commercial capability, who was able to lead critical projects to time and budget, without compromising quality. This was a senior opportunity and the appropriate individual would not be easy to find, they needed oil and gas experience, strong international experience, strong man management experience and be prepared to work from Motherwell with extensive overseas travel.
Given the requirement, a thorough approach utilising search, advanced selection and our network of skilled and specialist professionals was recommended. We identified a target list of companies across the globe.
We identified the successful candidate as part of our long list. At the time he was based in Germany, but following a successful video conference interview, it was clear that he was of the calibre required. The candidate was shortlisted and accepted for interview and not only offered a position with Motherwell Bridge, but was offered a more senior position. In fact, Newman Stewart successfully concluded all three assignments in commercial timescales, all of which have provided considerable value to Motherwell Bridge.
