The successful candidate could specialise in the following disciplines:

  • Highway Design (S38 / S278)
  • Drainage (S104 / S98)
  • Foul pumping stations, SUDS, flow control structures and balancing facilities
  • Residential and commercial works

The purpose of the role will be to plan and design a variety of civil infrastructure schemes on some of the largest and most prestigious developments in the country. Working alongside top industry professionals, you will be expected to work closely as part of a multi-functional team to ensure successful project delivery.

The role will be challenging with no two days being the same. You must have experience working closely with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors alike, to deliver accurately and in a timely manner.

Due to the company's ongoing growth strategy, our client is seeking a successful and ambitious Senior Utilities Engineer based in either Birmingham or Bristol.

Key responsibilities:

  • To provide a focal point for all utility engineering issues on major infrastructure projects.
  • To project manage and co-ordinate Utilities diversions with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • To review design work to identify easements and other key information at the early stage of projects.
  • To liaise with clients, industry contacts and the HSE to deliver schemes.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced in site engineering on major infrastructure and development projects relating to utilities.
  • Educated to a minimum of Degree level (or equivalent by experience), within a related Technical, Engineering or development-related discipline.
  • Instantly with personal and intellectual presence, impressive personal credentials, and history of continuous self-development.

Their products are used widely for everyday connectivity, in harsh environments, above and below ground and water. This role will require you to be responsible for the continuous manufacturing of fibre optic cables, wires and associated equipment developing, installing, and monitoring the machinery and its output. You will think on your feet and act fast to resolve any manufacturing issues that may occur and be given the opportunity to develop new processes for bespoke orders.

To be successful you should have experience of shop floor continuous manufacturing in a related industry and possess a high energy, high drive character working as part of a team and taking ownership for your work. Being a team player and thriving on building strong working relationships is essential in this role. While a degree in manufacturing or production engineering is not essential, an equivalent qualification or that gained by experience is essential to the success of your application.
