Our client is a developer and operator of anaerobic digestion plants nationwide. They are at the forefront of renewable energy; with over 10 sites across the country they can produce 400GWh of energy which is enough power for over 40,000 homes. This company handles not only the operation and Compliance of the sites but are able to provide a complete service ranging from development, Construction, and asset management; these are services that they can perform on third party projects as well as their own.
As the Environmental Compliance Manager, you would be the company's first port of call for any legislative inquiries as well as accountable for ensuring that all site managers and operators are aware of and able to comply with the Health and Safety standard that they are held to. This is your opportunity to work with a multi-faceted team across the planning, delivery, and handover of projects with the chance to aid others with your experience with compliance. Other duties you will be expected to perform are to:
- Work closely with the Environmental, Social & Governance officer on sustainability and environmental improvements.
- Form relationships with key stakeholders, plant owners, suppliers, local authorities, technical advisors, and regulators to improve environmental compliance.
- Respond to national consultations on policy and regulatory changes on environmental compliance, regulations and best practice and advises the business of their implications.
- Work across all areas of business (including operations, planning, feedstock, legal, safety, engineering, projects, biology) to raise awareness, advise, improve understanding, and implement change to maintain and improve environmental compliance and performance.
To achieve these tasks, we are looking for someone who is driven, able to prioritise competing workloads with their excellent organisational skills and who is prepared to adapt to new challenges as and when they come. A WAMITAB qualification would be a great support to lean on in this role however it is not essential if relevant and extensive experience can be shown.

The Role
The role is focused in the forensic sector, where you will be interacting with both private and public organisations. Working intimately with internal and external stakeholders, your role will be centred on determining the objectivity and proficiency levels of organisations such as Calibration Laboratories. These organisations may hold accreditation at present or may be seeking accreditation for new and developing fields of work.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Have experience and detailed technical expertise in one or more fields of DC, LF, RF or microwave calibration.
- Have a sound understanding of ISO/IEC 17025, preferably with practical laboratory experience within an ISO/IEC 17025 measurement environment.
- Have appropriate technical education in an engineering discipline, with a keen interest in sound metrology practices.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate effectively with laboratory staff, management, and stakeholders at all levels
- Ideally have hands on experience in laboratory calibration auditing or assessment with a mind-set of adding value. The Assessment Manager is the key focal point for customers and will meet their reasonable accreditation expectations with objectivity, diligence and excellent customer service.
With excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, you'll be tasked with recognising and prioritising business and customer needs.
