The Role
We are searching for an experienced food technician who can demonstrate a strong knowledge of quality and assessment within the Food/Farm industry. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the application of product certification schemes and quality management systems. An existing expertise in ISO/FSSC 22000 is highly desirable. The successful candidate must have successfully completed a recognised course in HACCP.
Based from home you will visit clients to conduct assessments and complete all follow up actions including reporting and client management. The assessment will often require utilising colleagues' expertise, necessitating the management of a small team on an ongoing adhoc basis, as well as managing budgets and administration.
The key requirement is a strong food and/or farm background, excellent communication skills, drive and enthusiasm, a passion for the role and the ability to develop knowledge, expertise and credibility across different schemes.
The role will involve extensive travel across the UK and regular overnight stays, it is therefore essential you have flexibility in your lifestyle to allow regular travel. As your remit covers the whole of the UK, you will ideally be based 'centrally' with good access to the motorway network.
This is an excellent opportunity for a certification professional to utilise their management systems and audit experience in a new direction in a challenging and rewarding role. The client can offer a salary of £45,000 plus benefits, negotiable on experience.
Skills and Experience
Successful completion of a recognised HACCP course

Our client is a successful certification company enjoying success nationally and with continued plans for growth. As a consequence they wish to recruit an experienced quality professional to help manage their clients in London and the surrounding area.

You will responsible for the delivery of audit services across a range of different businesses and industries.

You will currently work in quality and have an excellent understanding of the role of an auditor and the demands the job will bring. You will be able to demonstrate experience implementing and managing ISO systems as well as significant experience of auditing, whether this is internally, across a supplier base or as a qualified third party auditor.

You will have a good basic understanding of the legislative and technical requirements of at least two of the general ISO standards, ISO9001 - Quality Management Systems, ISO14001 - Environmental Management Systems and OHSAS45001 - Health & Safety.

Any experience of additional standards particularly ISO27001 will be advantageous. My client will take your current knowledge and train you to become a third party auditor through exams, mentoring and on the job training.

Alongside the required technical knowledge you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to work in new environments with new clients, developing relationships whilst delivering an excellent service. Self-sufficient, you will be happy to work independently supported by a remote head office team once you have completed your training. Home based the role will necessitate daily travel to conduct your duties and assessments.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a candidate who is Lead Audit and HACCP level 3 qualified. You will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of food safety, food defence, hygiene and quality assurance from roles as an Auditor or Technical / QA Manager within food manufacturing. It is essential that you have worked across a number of different food categories and are able to demonstrate technical competence to an in-depth level.

Responsibilities

  • To plan & conduct professional management system audits to enable delivery of assessment & certification services to meet customer requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Field based role, involving extensive travel regionally which may necessitate occasional overnight stays.
  • Deliver associated services within the region.

Skills and Experience

  • Able to demonstrate existing auditing experience (internal, second or third party).
  • Worked within a number of different food groups and environments.
  • Lead Audit qualified - BRC v8, ISO22000 etc.
  • Credibility having worked as a Senior QA or Technical Manager.
  • An in-depth knowledge of food manufacture, S&D, HACCP and certification requirements.
