The main prupose of this role is to replicate company success within Germany through new business development.

The Role

As Business Development Manager you will support development and implementation of German sales plan and strategy, whilst identifying new areas of growth in Germany. You will develop relationships with customers and industry leaders, as well as monitoring customer, market and competitor activity. The successful Business Development Manager will work closely with internal technical teams and influence key technical decision makers.

To be successful in this role you will require extensive direct technical sales/technical solution sales experience in Telco or related industry. You will ideally have a degree in Business, Engineering or related field and have significant work experience with Tier 1 and Tier 2 operators in Germany.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to find, win and retain new business in a competitive market, with a strong knowledge of market dynamics and business trends.

Our client provides industry-leading solutions, products and services to the energy, service provider, enterprise and industrial markets as well as a number of emerging markets. They manufacture, engineer and install fiber optic products and associated equipment. They are seeking an exceptional Business Development Manager to introduce and develop sales of their products into European Rail customers.

The Role

As Business Development Manager you will be expected to understand the market and sales strategies within the EU rail division. You will prepare and present sales forecasts to the senior management team and monitor and communicate account payment performance, assisting in the resolution of issues. The successful Business Development Manager will close business/orders for fibre optic cable solutions and will maximise sales opportunities ensuring maximum profit is attained. You will be expected to maintain a high level of knowledge of the company's products and solutions and those of competitors.

To be successful in this role you should have a proven track record of successful contract order negotiation. You must be able to deal with work under pressure from customers, agents and superiors, as well as being able to priortise tasks. The role requires an engineering degree or equivalent, as well as an extensive Sales background in the European Rail industry. This role will entail European travel.

Are you an ambitious, proactive and high-energy individual who can demonstrate a need to win? Our client are an industry-leading global manufacturer and installer of fibre-optic products and associated equipment who are growing rapidly internationally. They are seeking an exceptional Regional Sales Manager to continue this success and to be directly responsible for sales within Western European with a particular focus on the power/utilities/energy sectors utilising their market leading OPGW/Optical Ground Wire solutions.

You will be responsible for achieving the regions sales target and adhere to all policy directives. You will have daily contact with customers & agents and will be accountable for key customer accounts. You should have a strong understanding of the energy and utilities markets and sales strategies to maximise profitable sales for the Western European Region.

To be successful within this role you must be able to demonstrate continued success within the wire or cable industry, ideally selling OPGW/Optical Ground Wire solutions, within the utilities/power sectors. Due to the technical requirements of the position we are unable to consider individuals from outside this industry.
