Our client has National coverage in selling predominantly composite decking, but have a range of products in their portfolio, to timber merchants and builders' merchants. They are an import business and have achieved substantial growth over the last 4 years. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced sales manager to look after the external and internal sales function. You will be in charge of setting objectives, monitoring KPI's, leading by example and making sure the company exceeds sales targets.

They are looking for someone who is hungry for a challenge and has a proven track record of driving a team to success. They are looking for someone who has direct and relevant experience selling to builders' merchants and/or timber merchants. You must also have man management experience, leading a team of internal sales and external sales teams to success. You must be confident, structured, have the ability to listen and coach your team, have high energy levels and operate with the highest levels of integrity.

The Role

You will be a technically minded (mechanical &/or electrical) experienced Operations Professional who has worked in plant hire, equipment hire or similar on a national basis.

An excellent communicator and with experience successfully managing a small team (15 ) operating locally and remotely. You will be a rounded professional with a good knowledge and understanding of the importance of quality systems and health and safety within the work force. With external support from consultancies to look after management systems it will be your responsibility to ensure these are rolled out and followed internally. You will work closely with HR, transport, customer services and other colleagues to ensure your clients receive excellent products and service.

Focused, enthusiastic and driven you will be hands on and prepared to roll up your sleeves where necessary to get the job done. Working in a small successful business with like minded peers who pull together to produce great results in a warm friendly environment.

Whilst we will consider candidates with similar skills the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experience:

·Significant Operations experience within plant & equipment hire or similar
·Management of small local and remote teams
·Excellent communication skills
·A readiness to travel occasionally (once a fortnight)
·Mechanical / Electrical / Gas aware
·Health & Safety champion
·Systems & improvement orientated
