Our Client

Our client is a leading specialist certification body, with a great history and extensive experience they are the market leader in their field.

Working in the UK, Ireland and extensively on an International basis, they are seeking a process orientated manufacturing professional who can demonstrate extensive experience auditing on an internal, supplier or third party basis to join them as a Third Party Auditor.

The role will involve regular travel on an international (short haul and long haul) and 'local' basis. You will need to be prepared to stay away from home regularly normally for 1-2 nights and to a lesser degree for as long as 2-3 weeks. In between times you will be based at and work from home.

To be successful in this role you must have extensive experience within a manufacturing environment. It is essential that you have worked within a quality management or assurance role and be able to demonstrate in depth understanding of ISO9001 and the principles behind certification. A Lead Audit qualification in ISO9001 is highly desirable but not essential. Any experience of ISO 14001 or other standards is highly desirable.

In addition to this you will need first class communication skills and the ability to quickly develop relationships at all levels within an organisation.

The company deliver third and second party audits alongside food safety services to manufacturers, their supply chain and retailers across the UK.

The Role

As part of succession planning we are recruiting an experienced food audit professional to take a leading role managing a team of remote food auditors. It could suit candidates already operating in a similar role or someone who can demonstrate strong audit experience as well as some supervisory / leadership skills who is looking to take the next step in their management career.

A rounded role leading a team of audit professionals, managing client relationships for commercial and technical queries, liaising with UKAS, BRC and other relevant schemes as appropriate.

The successful candidate will demonstrate as much of the following as possible:

  • Lead Audit qualified in food - BRC, ISO22000, FSSC22000,
  • HACCP Level 3 or above
  • Witness Auditor
  • BRC ATP
  • BRC Storage & Distribution / BRC Agents & Brokers

This is a high profile role within a successful supportive organisation. A fantastic opportunity to develop or continue your career within a leadership role. Working with a strong leadership team you will be ambitious and keen to help tweak and improve a successful service provider.

The role is home based with travel to head office weekly or fortnightly dependent on your location and business requirements. You will manage your own travel and diary, however with visits to HQ, to meet field based auditors and visit clients you will be on the road 2-3 days per week.
