Our client

Would you like to work for a rapidly growing and innovative M&E Contractor that offers a full range of mechanical and electrical services? As well as offering a wealth of in-house technical skills and knowledge to provide the most effective building services solution for business in both the public and private sector? Their experience ranges from projects valued from £100k to in excess of £5million.

They have a strong reputation for advising their clients on the best sustainable systems for their particular projects. As a result of their continuing success they are looking for an ambitious, high energy Junior Mechanical Estimator to design and submit tenders for all Mechanical projects.

The role

  • Use drawings and specification to produce competitive tenders.
  • Taking of quantities and inputting into estimating software.
  • Acquiring specialist quotes and reviewing for tenders.
  • Submitting and finalising tenders including value engineering.
  • Review tenders with the Commercial Manager.
  • Attend meetings to review tenders with main contractors and clients.

Skills and experience

  • Ideally Construction specific qualifications in Plumbing & Heating.
  • Impressive personal credentials and history of continuous self-development.
  • Currently operating in a similar role or looking to take a step up from a trainee.
  • Experience of complex problem solving.
  • Personal and intellectual presence.
  • Ideally experience working for a Mechanical Contractor.

As a result of their continued success they are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business development across the UK.

You will be targeted with winning new business, helping to achieve all budgeted sales and margin targets to achieve sustainable growth, whilst shaping and implementing strategies for new key customer/ retail channels within the UK retail business unit. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a proven track record of acquiring new business accounts from a range of retail customers. You will manage your own diary and appointments on a day to day basis to identify leads and meet company targets based around new business development. You will work closely with your team members and other departments to ensure the business continues to run smoothly and efficiently. You will be given guidance but ultimately it will be down to you to utilise your skills and industry knowledge to win new business contracts and assist in the company's growth.

It is essential that the successful candidate has experience dealing with Retailers (DIY or Grocery would be preferable). You will be an enthusiastic character who is self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative. With outstanding negotiation and influencing skills you will be able to confidently develop effective business relationships with category buyers and directors. You will be highly numerate and be able to demonstrate a solid commercial acumen allowing you to operate at the highest levels of integrity

Skills and Experience:

  • University Degree or qualified by experience
  • A strong, proven track record of New Business Development within retail customers
  • You will be highly numerate and be able to demonstrate a solid commercial acumen allowing you to operate at the highest levels of integrity.
  • Outstanding Communication and Presentation Skills.
