Our client is a leading UK manufacturer of information technology hardware. With over 30 year's industry experience, they pride themselves for their technical excellence and reliable performance. As a result of their continuing success they are seeking to recruit an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their growing team.
As Purchasing Manager your role will consist of managing the purchasing team and developing the function in line with the changing needs of the business. You will manage your own supplier base, working to reduce cost, improve quality and ensure supplier on-time delivery is at the appropriate level. You will build strategic relationships with relevant suppliers and ensure that material flow supports the forecast and that material rescheduling activity is managed proactively to get the best results.
To be successful in this role you should ideally be CIPS qualified and be educated to degree level or equivalent industry related qualifications. It is essential that you have a purchasing background coupled with strong commercial awareness and demonstrable experience of supplier management and cost reduction.
