Our Client

Our client is a leading specialist laboratory operating in the UK and on a global basis. With a strong history and highly regarded reputation they are the market leader in their field. Because of an ever increasing work load they are actively recruiting an additional Technical Officer to join their busy team.

The Role

You will ideally be educated to HNC or higher in a chemistry based subject and may have worked with textiles. You will have a technical analytical mind set, be very organised and capable of working in an admin intensive role. A confident communicator you will have excellent relationship development skills.

Your role is to communicate and manage the testing application process across the full life cycle from preparing client quotes (time & cost) and project definition through to client reporting.

You will have the ability to understand a laboratory testing process and to be able to manage and communicate with customers and colleagues alike throughout each project. You will be very organised, capable of working within a technical environment and managing several different projects and customers at any one time.

As a Technical Officer you will process customer applications and provide quotes, as well as prepare reports and certificates. Working closely with colleagues in the laboratory and admin departments you will ensure that customer care promises are met, helping managers to answer customer enquiries and carry out general customer service duties as required.

Whilst my client will consider candidates with similar skills the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experience:
·Knowledge of textiles and other materials
·A chemistry background, ideally at higher education
·IT literate and use of Laboratory Information Management systems (training will be provided if necessary)
·Ability to work in a team with a flexible and willing attitude
·Ability to work to tight timescales and deadlines

Certification Team Leader

Our client is a leading specialist certification company operating in the UK and on a global basis. With a strong history and highly regarded reputation they are the market leader in their field. They have created a new role to manage their certification team to lead and mentor staff as well as working closely with customers to provide an efficient service.

The Role
To co-ordinate the team to ensure customer deadlines are met. Dealing with the full life cycle from queries and quotes through to certification and follow ups. Answering customer queries and providing general support to customers, colleagues and team members.

The Person
You will be an effective communicator and leader capable of building relationships at all levels. You will be able to demonstrate previous experience leading small to midsize teams, utilising effective management techniques.

You will have an understating of quality and ISO systems, any experience of ISO 17025, ISO17021, or ISO17065 is highly desirable.

You will be IT literate with a good knowledge of MS Office.
