Our Client

Our client is a leading specialist laboratory operating in the UK and on a global basis. With a strong history and highly regarded reputation they are the market leader in their field. Because of an internal move they wish to hire a Project Manager / Building Engineer to help upgrade and refurbish an existing laboratory and as a priority project manage the fit out of a new laboratory in Dublin.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Work closely and advise the board of directors on major refurbishment and expansion projects within the business
  • Source and manage architects and building contractors
  • Oversee all major building projects from initial design stages through to tender and completion

Qualifications & Experience

The candidate will be a rounded Engineer and Project Manager who can demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role, ideally with experience of laboratories or very similar technical environments.

With experience of as much of the following:

  • Planning & project managing technical 'fit outs'
  • Day to day maintenance of remotes sites and offices
  • Managing facilities contracts and sub-contractors
  • Contribute to site Health & safety
  • Ideally experienced managing the build / fit out of new scientific contract test laboratories.
  • Health & Safety trained - NEBOSH
  • Financially and commercially aware
  • Likely to be degree educated in a building, scientific or technical subject
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to work with directors, peers and external suppliers.
  • Experienced in supplier contract management
  • Remote site management
  • Attention to detail and IT literate
  • Excellent planning, detail conscientiousness and organisational excellence
  • Cohesive and inclusive leadership and team membership
  • Deadline obsessive
  • Prepared to take on additional challenges as and when they develop
  • Willingness to travel worldwide as and when required.
