Managing Director

John is a graduate of the University of Leeds and started his recruitment career 12 years ago with Ellis Fairbank plc, an Executive recruiter. During his first year there John was the highest fee earning consultant, he was subsequently promoted and ran a successful team of fee earning consultants, delivering retained and contingent search services.

John took his experiences to a boutique Executive Search Company – Bowcliffe Partners, where, as part of a fast paced and evolving business, John was made a Director and shareholder. He then joined Robert Half International, a global recruitment brand with revenues of $3 billion. He initially took responsibility for 3 divisions in one location, before being promoted to take full responsibility for 3 divisions across 3 locations in the north of England, as part of the wider UK senior management team.

John is ultimately responsible for the management and growth of Newman Stewart and since its inception nearly five years ago has achieved considerable growth in every financial year.

John is married with 4 children and enjoys playing (veterans) football, golf, as well as running, swimming and cycling.

Victoria is a graduate of Warwick University. She qualified as a Solicitor at Addleshaw Goddard in 2003 before moving to Clarion Solicitors in Leeds. Victoria joined Newman Stewart in February 2011 and assists John with setting the strategic direction of Newman Stewart and all financial management.

Victoria is married with 4 children and enjoys running, swimming and cycling.

Steve can offer extensive recruitment experience across a number of sectors and geographies. From IT recruitment in North America, Learning & Development in the Middle East and now specialising in Audit,Certification and Testing across the UK.

Heading up NS Quality and NS Sales & Marketing Steve is taking a leading role in growing and developing Newman Stewart’s team of recruiters.

With an ability to understand specific technical client requirements and then match these to high performing skilled candidates, Steve prides himself on providing a professional consultative recruitment service.

Away from work Steve spends most of his time with his wife and three children, has spent the last six years coaching and managing a junior football team (only three to go before he can hang up his boots) and walking the dog.

As well as being PA to the Managing Director, Helen is responsible for the day to day running of the office and its operations.

With over 25 years’ experience of working in business, Helen possesses all the credentials needed for the running of a busy office.

Her professional career has included involvement in a highly successful start-up business, as well as an early career within merchant banking, handling often complex and sensitive transactions.

Helen has 2 children and In her spare time enjoys cycling and walking and is also a member of a local chamber choir which performs concerts in her home town 3 or 4 times a year.

Jamie joined Newman Stewart in 2013 as a graduate Recruitment Consultant. With close mentoring in those early months, Jamie soon developed into a revered recruitment consultant by clients and colleagues alike.

In 2016 Jamie was promoted to become a Principal Consultant and he specialises on Sales & Marketing roles with a particular focus on mid to senior level sales roles.

Jamie was a member of the Sunderland Academy and a North Yorkshire tennis champion at a young age. Jamie now plays football for Headingly AFC every weekend and is a keen golfer playing whenever he can.

Joe joined Newman Stewart in early 2016 as a Recruitment Consultant.

A graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University – Joe had previously worked in Sales for a large multinational provider of security technology solutions.

With close mentoring, lots of hard work and an excellent training programme, Joe has developed into a successful, respected Recruitment Consultant.

In March 2017 Joe was promoted to Principal Consultant and is now responsible for the leadership of a specialist team of recruitment consultants. Joe specialises in Sales & Marketing roles with a particular focus on mid to senior level sales roles in security solutions, precision engineering and waste management

Typical Assignments fulfilled include:

Commercial Director – Publicly held £70million T/O waste management business.
UK Sales Manager- Privately held £10 million T/O precision engineering business.

Joe is a sports enthusiast playing cricket in the NYSD premier league and competitive football too. He is a regular visitor to the local gym and enjoys visiting new countries with his partner Jessica in any spare time he has.
